From Our Recent Ofsted
July 2021, The Inspector noted:
‘Pupils’ belief in themselves and trust in others flourishes. They begin to understand how their actions can affect others. Pupils manage their emotions extremely well. Their behaviour and attitude to learning improves considerably.’
‘Leaders design an individual learning plan which carefully links together a pupil’s academic, social and emotional needs. In most subjects, leaders have identified the precise subject knowledge that they want pupils to learn. These curriculum plans are carefully sequenced. This helps pupils to build on what they know when learning something knew and pupils achieve well.’
‘Highly skilled support staff quickly identify any potential disruptions to lessons. This enables them to defuse situations swiftly and sensitively. Over time, pupils develop very effective strategies to be able to manage their own emotions appropriately. Pupils are fully engaged in their learning. They work hard and take pride in their achievements.’

I accepted a TA3 role at Linton School in April 2019, and it was the best thing I ever did, not just from a career, but also a personal prospective.
The whole school team have an equal mindset to work collectively to reach the best possible outcomes for our young people. I am treated with respect and regard, particularly from Senior Leadership Team who treat staff equally and humanely. The working environment is safe and ensures positive mental health for all. This is also evident when support for staff is also needed outside of the job role.
My career has blossomed since joining, going from a TA3 to a HLTA and with friendly encouragement and sincere enthusiasm from Rebekah, Sean and the staff team, this has allowed me to achieve my Diploma in Education and Training.
Next steps are commencing my QTLS in January, and completing the Lowland Leadership Qualification, to support our young people to achieve the Duke of Edinburgh award.
The vision and ethos of Linton School is also person centred to colleagues.
I am truly thankful and appreciative of everything Linton school achieves for our young people and staff.
I am very proud to work here and be a part of the Linton family.

I couldn’t recommend Linton School highly enough from both the grounds and the staff, they are simply wonderful. Their nurturing attitude towards learning and being able to engage to encourage education is outstanding. My son wakes every morning and cannot wait to get into school, his progression in his last school year has been incredible and I cannot wait to see how this school will help develop his future and encourage his full potential to succeed in everyday life and hopefully go onto a college setting to fulfil his dreams of being in the Police force.

I just wanted to say a huge thanks to you all from Leon and our Family, we will be forever in your debt.
Linton School has literally changed all our lives, but especially Leon’s, he was really struggling with his education and life in general in main stream school, he was down to two hours a day at school and falling further behind daily with his education. Eventually after a lot of fighting we were offered a place for him at Linton.
I remember taking Leon to have a look around and meeting staff and some pupils to see what they had to offer, we were literally blown away by how friendly and welcoming everyone was, so much so Leon decided immediately that’s where he wanted to be. We have never looked back, the staff here have been amazing, they constantly encourage their pupils to do the best they can by having such a positive attitude to learning and rewarding good and positive behaviour. Leon has grown into a fine, well rounded young man. He has just finished his GCSE’s and has a college placement ready to start in September, he has completely turned his life around and that’s definitely down to shear determination and great encouragement from the staff at Linton.
I really can’t thank you enough for all your hard work and dedication to Leon and our family as a whole, the support we’ve had, has been wonderful.

I cannot thank Linton enough for turning my young mans life around, he went from being very misunderstood and excluded from mainstream school to a confident, mostly mature individual who has achieved more certificates than I thought possible.
Linton have accommodated our every need, and made my young mans time with Linton a very happy, enjoyable one. Each and every member of staff deserve a medal xxx

I was extremely lucky to work alongside Linton School who supported 3 of the children that lived in our home for over 4 years. The staff team at the school are amazing and it was a pleasure to watch the children grow and develop in their education through education plans that were created around their individual needs. The school was also very supportive in taking part in multi-agency meetings for the children and we built a positive relationship to share information so that we could all support the children if they were having a difficult time in school or at home. I cannot recommend this school and all of the teaching staff highly enough, and I hope to work with them again in the near future.
